Scholarship Donor Profile - Cynthia Boyle, PharmD, FAPhA
Cynthia Boyle, professor and chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Administration at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Pharmacy and Health Professions, has been a donor to the APhA Foundation for over 15 years. Boyle acknowledges that while there are many motivations for giving to the Foundation, including physical recognition at APhA headquarters and the desire to support a cause, she most appreciates the opportunities it provides to honor other people. When her husband, John, passed away unexpectedly in 2004, she sought a way to honor his memory. Boyle chose to work with the Foundation to create an endowed scholarship, the Boyle Family Scholarship, as a way of supporting the education of student pharmacists who will go on to provide critical pharmaceutical care to patients as practitioners.
