Mark Hanin is a third-year pharmacy student at the USC Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Mark holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of California, Riverside. After earning his degree, he worked at the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and for the Center for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Technologies (CEERT) to help lead multiple advocacy and policy initiatives. Throughout his academic journey, Mark gained valuable experience working in Riverside Community Hospital and now works as a pharmacist intern at DK Pharmacy in Rancho Cucamonga. Mark serves as Class President and Vice President of Academic Affairs for the student government at USC Mann. He is a Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) member, Pharmacy Legislative Week (PLW) Director, and was recently appointed to the APhA-ASP National Policy Standing Committee. He previously served as a fellow for the California Right Meds Collaborative (CRMC) and as a Course Assistant for the International Student Summer and Winter Programs. He is also a part of the AACP Aspiring Academics Program, where he is researching the incorporation of Generative AI to assist in clinical decision-making as part of the program. Outside of that, Mark conducts research on pharmacy advancement and specialization internationally and the incorporation of project-based learning in modern educational pedagogy. Moving forward, Mark plans to continue immersing himself in experiences that support his professional development as he explores postgraduate training programs to further his career advancement.
