Lauren Wells is a third-year pharmacy student at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy and a Master of Business Administration.
As a student pharmacist, she has served as the APhA - ASP Membership Vice President for two consecutive years, implementing initiatives to increase membership and enhance engagement. She also participates in the Health Protection and Education Services in St. Louis, MO, an APhA -ASP initiative that creates a strong commitment to community service.
Beyond APhA – ASP, Lauren holds leadership roles in multiple organizations. She serves as the National Recording Secretary for the Student National Pharmaceutical Association, the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists liaison, and a student committee member on the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Board and Global Education Committee. Additionally, she coordinates the Peer Buddy Mentor Program within the School of Pharmacy.
Her passion for healthcare and global service has led her to participate in educational trips, including the Antigua, Guatemala Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience and a Dental Mission Trip in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
With her extensive leadership experience and dedication to service, Lauren aspires to pursue a postgraduate year one and postgraduate year two residency, focusing on underserved communities to advocate for equitable healthcare.
