Kristina Lynn Catague

George Archambault Scholarship

University of California, Irvine School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences

Kristina Lynn was raised on the island of Guam, where she earned a baccalaureate degree in Biology-Med from the University of Guam. Currently in her fourth year of pharmacy school, she is honored to serve as the Class of 2024 President at the Ben and Maytee Fisch College of Pharmacy of the University of Texas at Tyler.

As a JRCOSTEP extern with the United States Public Health Service (USPHS),

Kristina Lynn served at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center, gaining valuable insights at Indian Health Service’s largest HIV Clinic. She conducted chart reviews for cis- and trans- gender female patients living with HIV, overseeing screenings and reaching out to organizations to raise awareness about PrEP medications. The unique USPHS experience prepared her for her subsequent role as the APhA-ASP Chapter President from 2022-2023.

During her presidency, she established the chapter-specific initiative "Operation Tobacco Cessation," where she also proudly served as the pioneer chair. She worked in collaboration with Peers Against Tobacco. Leveraging the network, collaborations with local entities such as NETHealth and Brookshire’s Pharmacy were frequent, particularly for the HPV Vaccination Events. Furthermore, she collaborated with her local SNPhA chapter on their monthly “Clinic Under the Bridge” initiative, engaging with the low-income and homeless populations in Tyler. This outreach involved education about STIs, with the distribution of feminine hygiene products and safe sex kits generously provided by Planned Parenthood. This journey has not only enriched her academic pursuits but has solidified her commitment to advancing public health initiatives within the field of pharmacy.
