Jose Archuleta is a third-year student pharmacist at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy. He currently serves as President of the APhA-ASP Chapter and as Vice President of his class. Passionate about advocacy and leadership, Jose has played a pivotal role in shaping pharmacy policy, having drafted a resolution that reached the national level and hosted policy events to empower student voices. He also represented his chapter as a delegate at the APhA Annual Meeting and attended the Summer Leadership Institute in Washington, DC, where he met with legislators to advance pharmacy initiatives.
Growing up in Raton, NM, Jose witnessed firsthand the challenges of healthcare access in rural communities, which inspired him to pursue pharmacy. He is particularly interested in in advancing policy initiatives that empower independent pharmacy owners, aspiring to make a lasting impact on the profession. He hopes to further develop his expertise through the APhA Experiential Program in Association Management & Leadership.
