Deanna Laughlin

Deanna is a passionate pharmacy student dedicated to advancing global health and infectious disease management. As the President of the Infectious Diseases Interest Group and a leader in various professional organizations, including the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to public health advocacy and pharmacy education.


Deanna has been involved in impactful projects that focus on HIV/AIDS awareness, antimicrobial stewardship, and increasing healthcare access in underserved communities. She completed a Student Exchange Externship in South Korea, expanding her global perspective on pharmacy practice. Her leadership roles, such as Regional Project Officer for IPSF’s Pan American Regional Working Group and Professional Development Work Group Lead for the ASHP Career and Leadership Development Pharmacy Student Forum, have equipped her with skills in collaboration, project management, and professional development.


In the future, Deanna aims to become a Pediatric Infectious Disease Pharmacist, combining clinical pharmacy with public health research to improve global healthcare outcomes. She is currently pursuing a Pharmacoepidemiology program at the University of Chicago to further refine their expertise in evidence-based treatment and health policy in a addition to her PharmD program at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
