“Pharmacists are integral to the healthcare team and have proven time and time again how influential they can be on patient care. The goal of this project is to determine if the utilization of a clinical pharmacy led diabetes telehealth program will lead to improved clinical outcomes when compared to traditional provider visits alone.

This project is important to me because access to healthcare should not be limited by our geographical location. I wanted to do research to not only reinforce what we already know about pharmacists which is that we are vital members of the healthcare team who have positive impacts on clinical outcomes, but also that we can make a change through virtual visits as well. Pharmacists are already the most accessible healthcare professionals in the United States, but there is much more we can do.

I am excited to complete this research because I can’t wait to see the differences our pharmacists have made in the lives of our patients. The incentive grant will be extremely helpful in getting the supplies and additional support needed to make this project successful.”
