Raney Ward is a PGY-1 VCU Community-based Resident at Bremo Pharmacy in Richmond, VA.

“Virginia Pharmacists are now able to be the frontline warriors to provide testing and treatment healthcare services against Influenza.

I was motivated to write a project proposal on influenza testing and treatment because I recognized the urgent need for accessible healthcare solutions in the Richmond metropolitan area. Witnessing the effect of COVID-19 on healthcare during the pandemic highlighted the essential role pharmacists can play in providing timely care. By integrating testing and treatment into pharmacy services, we can enhance patient access and improve health outcomes, ensuring that everyone receives the care they need when they need it.

I'm most excited about my influenza testing and treatment service project because I get to witness firsthand the integration of healthcare that truly benefits patients. The opportunity to identify the best target audiences allows me to craft tailored marketing strategies that resonate with their needs and concerns. It's refreshing to be able to combine my passion for healthcare with innovative outreach, ensuring that our services reach those who will benefit the most."
