Mary Louise Andersen.png

Opeyemi  Omotoyinbo is a PGY1 community pharmacy resident with the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and MercyOne Pharmacy in Iowa City and Dubuque, Iowa.

“This initiative is designed to revolutionize the care provided to patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) by introducing a Long-Acting Injectable (LAI) medication service in collaboration with community pharmacies.

We aim to switch eligible patients from daily oral medications to monthly injectables to reduce administration burden, improve adherence, and increase patient satisfaction. Our initiative also aims to identify key factors to improve patient outcomes and streamline care.

I'm excited to simplify treatment for patients, making their recovery journey easier and improving adherence. This gives patients the freedom to choose the best treatment that works for them, leading to better overall outcomes.”
